Drip Drop Feeding
In some cases, infants may be bottle feeding even though parents are supplying some or all of their milk. Infants can often be brought back to the breast with drip-drop feeding. The parent may not know this possibility exists and desire to breast/chestfeed directly which will reduce the risk of infection for both parent and child. It may also be necessary to get the infant to the breast/chest to avoid infant and parent illness should pumps, electricity, clean water and cleaning supplies, as well as bottles, nipples and cups are not available.
